Organic But Still GMO???

If you are trying to avoid foods that have been genetically modified (GMO's), then you should also be aware of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA). These two work hand in hand... I am going to give you a list of some of the organic foods that you should avoid, but first a little more info...

The recent victories in Vermont and Oregon, (in April, the Vermont Senate passed a GMO labeling bill requiring food manufacturers to label genetically engineered (GE) foods in Vermont and prohibited them from labeling foods with GE ingredients as "natural" or "all natural"). In Jackson County, Oregon, residents voted to ban the growing of genetically engineered crops. Hopefully this will build momentum for similar bans in other states. As always, there is power of the people...Only WE can make the change...

So far, between 2012 and 2014, Monsanto and the GMA have successfully blocked GMO labeling registration in over 30 states, spending more than $100 million. These funds were received from the members of the GMA, which include chemical pesticide, GE seed, and processed food industries. I wanted to write this blog because I think it's important to be aware of this and to know that certain natural and organic brands are actually owned by members that support GMO's and the GMA.

Here's a list of some of the most popular brands that are being considered "traitor brands:"
